The basic circuit of the induction hardening machine is composed of an AC power source G, a capacitor C, an induction coil L, and a heated steel material M. It can be considered that the high-frequency quenching machine is an oscillating circuit composed of an inductor and a capacitor, and the energy consumed for heating the steel is compensated by the alternating current power source.
The heated metal of the induction hardening machine is placed in the induction coil, and after the alternating current is supplied to the coil, an alternating magnetic field is generated in the induction coil.
The metal conductor in the alternating magnetic field cuts the magnetic lines of force and generates an induced current inside the metal.
The induced current flows inside the metal, and the metal is heated by overcoming its resistance to convert electrical energy into heat. This is the transformation process of magnetism, electricity and heat, that is, the induction heating process.
