Xi Jinping exchanges congratulatory messages with Ecuadorian President Moreno on the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Ecuador
Reprinted by Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, January 2nd. President Xi Jinping exchanged congratulatory messages with President Moreno of the Republic of Ecuador on January 2nd to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Xi Jinping pointed out in the congratulatory message that China-Egypt friendship is well-founded. In the 40 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, the two sides have promoted the healthy and stable development of bilateral relations based on the principles of equality, mutual benefit, win-win cooperation and common development. In November 2016, I paid a state visit to Ecuador. The two countries established a comprehensive strategic partnership and exchanges and cooperation in various fields accelerated. In December 2018, President Moreno's successful visit to China injected new impetus into China-Ecuador relations. I attach great importance to the development of China-Ecuador relations and would like to work with President Moreno to take the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries as a new starting point to promote new and greater development of China-Ecuador relations.
Moreno said in the congratulatory letter that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Ecuador and China for 40 years, the relationship between the two countries has been based on friendship, progress and development, and a comprehensive strategic partnership has been established on this basis. In December 2018, I had the honor to pay a state visit to China and strengthened our comprehensive strategic partnership. I wish that the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries will be further consolidated in the future and make new contributions to the well-being of their respective peoples and the prosperity of their countries.
